This is an invitation to participate in something very exciting…

At the Fireside Chat on June 27, Pastor Derrick gave updates on the research we have been doing on a three phase plan for the Westbank Campus of Emmanuel Church. He outlined the upcoming paving project, the potential theatre / sanctuary and our desire to create a gym for the next generation. We desire to “expand our tent pegs” and be used by God in an ever increasing way in our community. We believe these steps are important ones readying us for the next decade.

This summer we are converting our multi-purpose room into a gym that would meet both the demands of Sunday worship as well as the growing demands of mid-week Next Generation Ministry. The needs of our pre-teen, junior high, senior high and young adults are expanding. In a typical week, we could minister to 400 people on a Sunday as well as 400 people mid-week. Recent events have again shown the huge spiritual void in our Westside youth and opportunities for Emmanuel to fill that void. We need to double our efforts with this lost generation, and a proper gymnasium will help us better do that.

A multi-purpose gym will help us enhance our ministry to our youth, our community, and will continue to allow us excellent weekend services until we build a sanctuary. It will not only save us money on renting gyms, but it allows us to serve other churches in West Kelowna and Peachland as well.

In casting the vision for this project with local Christians something significant developed: Christian business leaders not affiliated with Emmanuel stepped forward and embraced the idea. They see the impact Emmanuel is having and the potential for greater ministry. They have provided $65,000 for this project, with $50,000 contingent on matching funds.

We would like to ask you to participate in this renovation. During the summer, every dollar you give toward the project will be matched by theses outside sources to a maximum of $100,000.
